RE: The Cairns Bruce Highway Upgrade and Cairns Transit Network projects

Is
the draft concept design, released by the Department of Transport and
Main Roads on the 5th of November, really a solution to our transport
and traffic problems?
Rail is ignored and placing the CTN
busway to the west and not to the east of the highway, makes future
integrated use of bus and rail for commuting difficult.
No
mention is made in this report of the future use of the cane train
corridors and the role they could play in our transport needs.
Please
find eight files pertaining to a proposed alternative transport system
for the Greater Cairns Area. Also included is a copy of a newsletter
released by the Department of Transport and Main Roads that outlines
their proposal.
